What Is an INTERLACED IMAGE?
Did you see the second image, Which Is Interlaced fade in? This is sometimes called a "Venetian Blind" effect. If you missed seeing the effect, then position the two images so they are both visible in your browser, then press the Re-load button.
If you use Interlaced images, your readers will be further encouraged to carry on reading your Web Page, because it will be immediately apparent, that an image is being loaded, and something is going on.
The order of the lines appear in an Interlaced Image are, for example in a 14 line display, as follows:-

1st Pass - Lines 1 and 9

2nd pass - Lines 5 and 13

3rd pass - Lines 3,7 and 11

4th pass - All remaining lines.
To further explain, it saves it in a stepwise fashion, instead of linearly.

1. Saves every eighth row starting from the first.

2. Every eighth row starting from the fourth.

3. Every fourth row starting from the third.

4. Then the remaining rows.
